BOWLS COORDINATOR
With our long-term Bowls Coordinator of 15 years, Jeremy Henry, having decided upon a sea change and heading North (thanks for the victories, memories and friendship Jez), an exciting opportunity has arisen at Warilla Bowls and Recreation Club for a suitably qualified Bowls Coordinator.
World Bowls former CEO, Gary Smith, labelled Warilla Bowls and Recreation Club “the best bowling Club in the World”, a high benchmark for our new Bowls Coordinator who will have the responsibility for developing and maintaining the Club’s bowls program for its 300 bowling members; developing and maintaining the Club’s pathways program; developing and maintaining and the Club’s junior program; and will be the driving force behind the Club’s continued aspirations to be the best it can be, at all levels and in all aspects of our great game.
Please only apply if:
• You understand sporting cultures and you know how to develop and maintain a culture of unity, inclusion and team excellence;
• You have superior verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to empathetically deal with many, varied (and at times challenging) stakeholders;
• Your interpersonal and conflict resolution skills are two of your most potent weapons in dealing with the wants, needs and egos of bowlers of all levels and abilities;
• You are able to inspire all bowlers, regardless of ability, to reach beyond their potential;
• You have the charisma and sales nous to garner new sponsorships, in liaison with the Club’s marketing Manager, and to foster excellent relationships with all the Club’s sponsors;
• You have the flexibility to work on weekends and evenings as required to meet the demands of a very busy bowls environment;
• You are an innovator with an entrepreneurial flair, willing to look outside the box in the quest to fill the greens and to drive success;
• You can work to enhance the Club’s profile using social media, including live streaming and ‘Gorilla TV’.
A generous remuneration package will be negotiated with the successful applicant.
