With the nickname “Nobody”, because “Nobody’s perfect”, John joins us to provide an insightful keynote address into his success both on and off the playing field. One of the great Australian sportspeople, John is an inspiring human and his story will capture the room and set the tone for the day ahead. Towards the end of this session, you will have the opportunity to ask John some questions about his career.

Hear from Bowls NSW CEO Tim Rowe and the Zone and District Unification Committee as they provide updates on the processes being undertaken to reform the Governance structures of our sport. There will be opportunities for the audience to ask questions towards the end of the presentation.

Hear from our panelists on the direction of Bowls nationally and in NSW. In addition, This will be a moderated session where the audience can ask questions to the panel, with a Lucky Door Major Prize Giveaway courtesy of our Friends at P&O Cruises drawn at the end of the session.

  • Hear from three clubs who grapple with the challenges of member engagement, retention and growth. Hear about the challenges that are common across the Bowls Community and existing and emerging strategies to assist in retaining and growing your club membership base.
  • Join us for a session full of incredible insights from the Queen of Bowls in Australia, Karen Murphy. Karen will take you through hints and tips on the best ways to improve your game and provide you with some great take aways on how to master the sport of bowls. This is your opportunity to hear from one of the best players to ever grace the greens!
  • Join BowlsLink Coordinator Ben Krikstolitis for a session covering the basics of BowlsLink. This will be an informative session for those starting out on their BowlsLink journey with interactive portions where members are encouraged to ask questions and seek answers to matters relating to the database. So come prepared!
  • We often are asked what the role of the President, Secretary and Treasurer are specifically within the Bowls Community. Hear from club experts in relation to the definition of these roles within a Club framework, their experiences overseeing bowls operations with a club and some best practice and practical solutions to ensuring your club is Governed to the highest level.
  • Hear from leaders in the Bowls Club industry and from a leader in the school sport industry on best practice programs and initiatives to drive engagement with bowls through our younger generations. We are constantly reminded that attracting and retaining youth within our sport is a major challenge for clubs, and this session will equip you with some key learnings on how to develop a great junior bowls program for your club.
  • Officiating in bowls is an art and it is underpinned by an incredible group of volunteers across our State. In this session, NOAG representative Andrew Lynn will provide an in depth analysis into current umpiring processes within New South Wales. He will also provide an insight into the officiating pathway towards becoming an ITO. This session will equip you with the knowledge needed to understand what it takes to be an umpire.
  • Hear from members of the Bowls NSW Sport team as they discuss the latest changes to the Bowls NSW Conditions of Play documents and share useful hints and tips on how to effectively structure competitions.
