Board Statement in Relation to Co-CEOs Anne Johns and Greg Helm

by tbreuer

The Board of Bowls NSW has provided the following statement in relation to Co-CEOs Anne Johns and Greg Helm.

As a result of the formal process undertaken to find and hire a Chief Executive Officer,  the current CEOs contracts were not renewed by the Board.

The formal process to employ one CEO, in line with the Constitution, is continuing, however the Board believed it to be in the best interests of the general membership that the decision relating to Anne Johns and Greg Helm be provided as soon as possible.
Anne and Greg’s employment with the company ceased on 31 August 2022.

Anne and Greg have both been instrumental in the Unification of the former Royal New South Wales Bowling Association and Women’s Bowls New South Wales to form the current entity, Bowls New South Wales Ltd.

Between them, Anne and Greg have provided over 20 years of service to the sport of bowls.

Anne joined WBNSW in 2018 as Events, Marketing and Communications Manager before promotion to General Manager, then CEO in 2020.
Anne brought to the role a progressive mindset. Anne worked closely with RNSWBA on the unification process to achieve its success.

Greg Helm has worked for RNSWBA for 17 years in a number of roles. He was CEO of RNSWBA for 14 years after joining the Royal as Sports Development Officer/Manager in 2004.
In that time, he has overseen the development of the sport and played a key part in the implementation of various successful initiatives.

Like Anne, Greg was part of the team to unify the sport in NSW.

We express our thanks to Anne and Greg on their work in bringing the organisation to where it is today.

We wish Anne and Greg all the best in their future endeavours and offer our thanks for their services towards Bowls New South Wales Ltd.
