TAB announced as 2022-23 State Championship Event Sponsor
Bowls NSW is excited to welcome TAB as an event sponsor of the 2022-23 State Championships. The Bowls NSW State Championships is the biggest event on the bowling calendar, and we are thrilled to have TAB on board to support the event.
With over 800 men’s and women’s qualifiers competing from 20 July – 1 August at Figtree Sports, Wiseman Park Wollongong City and Towradgi Park Bowls Clubs, the 2022-23 Bowls NSW State Championships will see 52 new state champions crowned.
Bowls NSW CEO Tim Rowe commented on TAB’s support of the State Championships, stating “It is fantastic to be able to work with such a large brand like TAB. In a first for our sport, TAB have arranged for the ‘Big Sports Brekky’ radio show to be broadcasting live from Figtree on Thursday the 27th of July. It’ll bring a whole new dimension to the event for our competitors, and it will put bowls in the spotlight where it belongs. We thank TAB for their support and look forward to continuing our collaborations with them.”
With the State Championships only 1 week away, preparations are well underway for what will be the biggest and best Bowls NSW event yet. Come visit Figtree Sports, Towradgi Park or Wiseman Park Wollongong City between 20 July – 1 August and watch some of the best bowlers in the world take to the greens as they compete for a coveted State title.

Take part in the TAB ‘Closest to the Jack’ Competition!
Calling all bowlers! TAB is running a ‘Closest to the Jack’ competition during the Bowls NSW State Championships, with first prize a brand-new set of TAB branded Drakes Pride bowls.
The competition will be held at Figtree Sports on July 22 from 12-2 pm, July 25 from 10 am -12 pm, July 27 from 12-2 pm, July 29 from 2-4 pm, and August 1 from 12 pm -2 pm and is open to anyone at the venue who is over 18 and a resident of NSW.
The aim of the game is simple – roll your bowl as close as possible to the jack without touching it. Whoever bowls closest to the jack at the end of the State Championships will win a set of TAB Drakes Pride Conquest bowls! Five TAB x Bowls NSW Prize Packs are also on offer to daily winners, which includes a $200 Figtree Sports club voucher.
Whether you’re a novice or a seasoned expert, this is your chance to take part and win! Look out for the TAB stall out near the greens at Figtree Sports for your chance to enter the TAB ‘Closest to the Jack’ Competition.
