2024 State Carnival off to a Great Start

The highly anticipated 2024 State Carnival kicked off with excitement as women from across the state descended on the picturesque Mid-North Coast region for the annual event.

With a legacy spanning over 75 years, the State Carnival has become a cornerstone event on the calendar, eagerly anticipated by players year after year. This edition proves to be one of the largest yet, boasting an impressive turnout of 920 participants representing 144 clubs. With participants ranging from fresh-faced 21-year-olds to seasoned campaigners over the age of 90 and everyone in between, the State Carnival truly embraces the spirit of inclusivity, welcoming bowlers of all ages and abilities.

Sectional play commenced today across nine host venues: Forster Bowling Club, serving as the main host, along with Bulahdelah Bowling Club, Hallidays Sports Club, Pacific Palms Bowling Club, Club West Taree, Taree Leagues Bowling Club, Tuncurry Forster Sports Bowling Club, Tuncurry Beach Bowling Club, and Old Bar Bowling Club. As the sectional battles unfold, teams will be hoping to advance through to post-sectional play, set to begin on Thursday and continue through to Friday at Forster Bowling Club.

As the first day concludes, the atmosphere is buzzing with anticipation for the days ahead, promising a week filled with friendly competition and community spirit at the heart of the State Carnival.
