by admin

Registrations are now open for the 2026 Bowls NSW Member Conference, taking place at Wenty Leagues on Friday, 30 October 2026.

This year’s Conference is all about Building Stronger Clubs, and engaging experienced industry experts to connect and engage with our membership for a day packed with practical ideas, fresh insights and opportunities to connect.

With 10 expert-led sessions across the day, there’s plenty to take away and put into action at your club. Explore topics including coaching pathways, club integrity, school bowls, growing female participation, funding and partnerships, BowlsLink, umpiring and laws, as well as an On-Green Masterclass with some of our State Players.

Whether you’re a club administrator, coach, volunteer, committee member or passionate player, the program has something for everyone, with practical information designed to help clubs grow, develop and thrive.

Keynote Speaker – Gary Willis

We’re thrilled to welcome Gary Willis as our keynote speaker!

Gary brings extensive experience at the highest levels of the sport, both as a player and coach. A former Australian representative and 2002 Commonwealth Games athlete, Gary went on to build an outstanding coaching career, spending 14 years with Bowls Australia and more than five years leading the national High Performance program as National Coach and Performance Director.

During his time in-charge, the Australian Jackaroos achieved sustained international success, including becoming the first Australian bowls team to win Commonwealth Games gold on Northern Hemisphere greens at Birmingham 2022, topping the medal table at the 2023 World Bowls Championships, and securing two gold medals at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

Now joining Bowls NSW as Head of Coaching & Education, Gary brings that wealth of experience to the NSW bowls community. In the months ahead, Gary will be leading the charge on establishing dedicated workshops for each Region across NSW in the delivery of core services including coaching; selection; high performance; and officiating.

Don’t miss the opportunity to hear about his journey, his experiences at the highest level of the sport, and his new role and future deliverables working for Bowls NSW. This will be followed by a live Q&A with Conference attendees.

For the $10 entry fee, you will receive:

  • Knowledge and insights to build a stronger club through technology, innovation and new opportunities.
  • Fresh ideas you can put into action straight away.
  • Valuable connections and networks with club representatives from across NSW.
  • ‘All you can eat’ morning tea and lunch, plus afternoon drinks on us, with all-day tea and coffee facilities.
  • Great value and an inspiring day of engagement and connection for Bowls Clubs across NSW.

(Please note the schedule is subject to change.)

Additionally, the 2026 Bowls NSW Awards Night will be held at Wenty Leagues the night before the conference, on Thursday, 29 October. This evening will be a celebration of the outstanding achievements of our members throughout the 2025-26 season, both on and off the green. Tickets for the Awards Night can be purchased here.
