Bowls NSW is pleased to announce that the 2026 Nationals Qualifiers will be held across the Wollongong region from 25 November to 2 December 2026, proudly supported by Destination Wollongong.

The one-off event will be staged across Figtree Sports, Club Windang, Woonona Bowling Club and Club Thirroul, and will determine the New South Wales representatives for the 2027 Australian Championships.

The Nationals Qualifiers will feature Men’s and Women’s Singles, Pairs, Triples and Fours, along with the Mixed Pairs State Finals, with hundreds of bowlers from clubs across New South Wales expected to compete.

Destination Wollongong will continue its support of Bowls NSW events as an official event partner of the Nationals Qualifiers, having most recently supported the Women’s Pennant State Finals at Figtree Sports in August.

Bowls NSW CEO Tim Rowe thanked Destination Wollongong and the four host clubs for their continued support.

“We are delighted to once again partner with Destination Wollongong and our host clubs to bring another major Bowls NSW event to the region,” Rowe said. “Wollongong is a great location for an event of this scale, with quality bowling facilities, a strong local bowls community and plenty for players and supporters to enjoy during their visit. We are very grateful for the continued support of Destination Wollongong and look forward to working with Figtree Sports, Club Windang, Woonona Bowling Club and Club Thirroul to deliver a successful event.”

Destination Wollongong General Manager Jeremy Wilshire said:

“We’re thrilled to welcome the Bowls NSW National Qualifiers to Wollongong this November, and to continue our partnership with Bowls NSW following last month’s Women’s State Pennant Finals. With games stretching from Thirroul right down to Windang, players and their supporters will have the perfect opportunity to get out and experience more of Wollongong, from our beaches and coastal walks to our local cafes and restaurants.

“We’re looking forward to welcoming everyone to the region and hope they take the opportunity to experience what makes Wollongong such a great place to stay and play.”

The Nationals Qualifiers will begin on Wednesday, 25 November with the Triples competition, followed by the Pairs, Fours and Singles before concluding with the Mixed Pairs State Finals on Wednesday, 2 December.
