Vale Rob Parrella OAM
Bowls NSW is saddened to hear of the passing of one of the sport’s true greats, Rob Parrella OAM.
A towering figure in Australian and world bowls, Rob’s impact on the game was extraordinary. He proudly represented Australia on 127 occasions, competed at three Commonwealth Games, and made history as Australia’s first men’s singles Commonwealth Games gold medallist at Auckland 1990.
Across his career, Rob claimed multiple State, National and International titles cementing his status as one of the games greats. His true influence stretched beyond his impressive results, with his attacking style of play and fierce competitive approach to the game making him an iconic figure within the sport across generations.
Rob’s contribution to bowls was duly recognised with an OAM and induction into the Bowls Australia Hall of Fame.
Bowls NSW extends its heartfelt condolences to Rob’s family and friends.
