Secretary Manager
Narrandera Bowling & Recreation Club is looking to appoint an experienced Secretary Manager to build on the Club’s successes and set it up for the future.
The Secretary Manager will be reporting to the Board of Directors and be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Bowling Club in a hands-on capacity. The position will require a person who will interact with members and staff and be customer-service based. The successful applicant will need to have experience in all aspects of licensed Club Management.
The Board of Directors is looking for a person who will take the Club forward in the future, so experience in the following would be advantageous.
Key responsibilities
● Club management
● Financial management
● Secretarial and administrative operations
● Compliance and governance of relevant legislation
● Member services (data base, correspondence, communication)
● Community engagement
● Marketing and Promotion of the Club
● Bowls promotion and organisation (with Match Committee and Bowls Co-ordinator)
Skills and experience
● Previous experience in Club industry (a Bowls Club is a bonus)
● Strong financial and management skills
● Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills
● Proficiency in relevant software
● Sound knowledge of NSW liquor, gaming and registered club legislation (including TAB and Keno)
● Build and maintain a strong working relationship with staff, members, suppliers, sponsors, and the Board of Directors
● Be prepared to work flexible hours including weekends (with some bar work during the quieter times midweek)
● Currently hold all required competency cards (e.g. RSA, RCG and Club Management certificates)
Who we are
Narrandera Bowling and Recreation Club is situated in the heart of the Riverina district in South West NSW. The shire has a population of 5700 approx. and the town of Narrandera is on the junction of the Newell and Sturt highways with the Murrumbidgee River and Lake Talbot Swimming Complex a major feature. Four schools (one high school) and hospital are also present in Narrandera. Small town, big heart.
The Bowling Club has 500 members (with 80 of those being full bowling members). We field four pennant teams in the Wagga Wagga section of the Riverina Murray Region.
