Bowls NSW confirms return to January–December season format
Following a meeting of the Bowls NSW Board held today, the Board has resolved to return the NSW bowling season to a calendar-year format (i.e. moving from a July – June playing season, to a January – December playing season), commencing from the 2027 season.
This decision comes after statewide consultation and ongoing feedback from our Regions, clubs and members. The Board has listened carefully and is acting on what has been a consistent message from across the State – that a return to a calendar-year season better supports clubs, greenkeepers and members, and aligns more naturally with the rhythm of our sport.
We are communicating this decision immediately in the interests of transparency. We understand there will be many questions and acknowledge that not every detail is yet finalised.
Over the coming months, we will communicate further information including:
- the 2027 season calendar (January – December), and
- the arrangements for the transition period from July – December 2026.
