Bowls Coordinator / Grounds person
The Role – A Unique Dual Opportunity
This is a dynamic, hands-on position for a self-motivated and versatile person who is ready to take ownership of both the Bowls Coordinator and Grounds person. You’ll report to the Secretary Manager and the Head Greenkeeper and will play a key role in shaping the future of bowls at Club Nowra. You’ll be part of a collaborative and supportive team that values initiative, a strong work ethic and a positive, can-do attitude.

Key Responsibilities – Bowls Coordinator
• Manage, coordinate and grow all bowling activities at the Club
• Recruit, retain and develop bowlers across all ages and skill levels
• Organise and deliver barefoot bowls events (high demand over summer/Christmas)
• Run Wednesday and Friday social bowls
• Develop and manage junior bowls programs
• Organise tournaments and Club events
• Oversee bowls shop operations and facility needs
• Support the amalgamation of the Men’s and Ladies’ bowls groups
• Work closely with the Lady Bowlers and wider membership
• Administer all bowls-related communications and operations
• Attract new sponsors and nurture existing sponsor relationships
• Raise the Club’s bowls profile and increase bowls membership
Please note that a current National Bowls Coaching Accreditation will be highly regarded.
Essential Criteria – Greens keeping/grounds maintenance
• Proven experience in bowling green horticulture and/or greenkeeping
• Knowledge of turf maintenance practices, fertilisers and pest management
• Competency in operating and maintaining horticultural equipment
• Sound chemical/pesticide usage knowledge
• Strong initiative and practical problem-solving abilities
• Reliable communication skills and a team-focused mindset
• Appropriate fitness for physical tasks
• Full Driver’s Licence
Hours of Work
Hours will include weekday and weekend shifts to meet the needs of bowls events and greenkeeping schedules.
