Belmont Golf & Bowls is the Hunter’s number one sports and hospitality destination. The club is home to a magnificent seaside championship golf course, state-of-the-art bowling facilities, and a fantastic clubhouse boasting panoramic views.
Located on the Pacific Highway, less than 2 hours north of Sydney, with idyllic Lake Macquarie on one side and the Pacific Ocean on the other.
Are you passionate about lawn bowls and community engagement? We are seeking an individual to fill the role of full-time Bowls Coordinator. This position is pivotal in promoting and coordinating all aspects of lawn bowls activities within our club and the wider community.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Bowls and Games Coordinator is responsible for coordinating men’s, Women’s, Mixed, Junior, and Social Lawn Bowls, including ‘barefoot’ bowls, and for successfully managing and administering Bowls activities within the club.
This position will directly align with the Club’s strategic plan of supporting and fostering local community activities and sports. It will be the main contact for these groups.
Key Responsibilities:
• Actively promote lawn bowls activities within the club and the wider community.
• Encourage participation in zone, district, state, club, and social bowls events.
• Develop and implement the annual bowls program.
• Ensure the smooth running of open gender, single gender, and social bowls events daily.
• Coordinate club coaches, umpires, and committees to ensure compliance with Bowls NSW regulations.
• Ensure adherence to any relevant programs mandated by Belmont Golf & Bowls Club.
• Coordinate the selection committees for both open and single gender pennant teams.
• Organise and oversee the delivery of open and single gender tournaments.
• Plan and execute community engagement activations, such as bowls parties, Try Bowls events, and school programs.
• Liaise with the Greens Contractor to schedule and coordinate the use of the green space.
• Undertake any additional duties as directed by the Chief Executive Officer or their delegate, which may include working hours during service and bowls functions
What You’ll Bring to the Role:
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Knowledge of lawn bowls rules and regulations preferred.
• Organisational abilities with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required.
• Previous experience in a similar role or within the lawn bowls community is advantageous.
• Work with Children Certificate.
• First Aid Certificate.
• Basic Computer Skills.
This role is full-time, with flexibility on workdays across weekdays and weekends. Our registered club boasts over 2,000 members, features two recently reconstructed synthetic bowling greens, and has an enthusiastic Bowls community of 100+ bowlers. We are committed to diversifying and unifying men’s and women’s bowls and actively promoting Barefoot Bowls.
