Sussex Inlet is a beautiful village situated on the South Coast of NSW between Nowra and Ulladulla. It boasts beautiful beaches and is a very popular holiday destination. During holiday periods the population of approximately 4,800 swells to the vicinity of 15,000. The Sussex Inlet Bowling Club is a very successful club which was established in 1957 and plays an important role in our local Community in sports and as a social base.
Are you passionate about lawn bowls and community engagement?
We are seeking an individual to fill the role of Part-time Bowls Coordinator. This position is pivotal in promoting and coordinating all aspects of lawn bowls activities within our club and the wider community.
Key Responsibilities:
• Actively promote lawn bowls activities within the club and the wider community.
• Encourage participation in zone, district, state, club, and social bowls events.
• Develop and implement the annual bowls program.
• Ensure the smooth running of open gender, single gender, and social bowls events on a daily basis.
• Coordinate club coaches, umpires, and committees to ensure compliance with Bowls NSW regulations.
• Ensure adherence to any relevant programs mandated by Sussex Inlet Bowling Club Ltd.
• Coordinate the selection committees for both open and single gender pennant teams.
• Organise and oversee the delivery of open and single gender tournaments.
• Plan and execute community engagement activations, such as bowls parties, Try Bowls events, and school programs.
• Liaise with the Greens Contractor to schedule and coordinate the use of the green space.
• Undertake any additional duties as directed by the General Manager or their delegate, which may include working hours during service and bowls
functions.
What You’ll Bring to the Role:
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Knowledge of lawn bowls rules and regulations preferred.
• Organisational abilities with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required.
• Previous experience in a similar role or within the lawn bowls community is advantageous.
• Work with Children Certificate.
• First Aid Certificate.
• Basic Computer Skills.
This role is part-time, offering 15-20 hours per week, with flexibility on workdays across weekdays and weekends. Our registered club boasts over 5,000 members and features two recently re-constructed bowling greens, including one synthetic and one natural green, along with an enthusiastic Bowls community of 100+ bowlers.
