Head Green Keeper
Kiama Bowling Club is seeking a full time Head Green Keeper. Kiama Bowling Club has an excellent reputation for providing quality lawn bowling surfaces, we need you to carry on the standard of bowling green excellence. The successful applicant will carry out maintenance on the club’s 2.5 bowling greens as well as manage the clubs gardens and surrounds. A permanent full time contract under salary conditions will be negotiated, relative to experience.
The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:
Certificate 3 in Sports Turf Management or 2 years’ experience in turf maintenance industry (lawn bowling greens preferred).
AQF3 Accreditation.
Excellent communication skills and a sound knowledge of WHS in the workplace.
Sound Knowledge of all standard turf maintenance machinery.
Experience and knowledge of chemical and fertiliser application.
Must be self-motivated, hardworking and have passion for turf grass management.
Must be willing to be flexible with work hours dependent on tournaments, corporate events, and weather conditions.

Role duties and responsibilities:
Carry out effective green’s maintenance and improvements.
Mowing and rolling of greens.
Identify and control weeds, pests or fungal disease by the hand or spray application of chemical and herbicide.
Correct chemical storage and recording.
Supervisors in the operation and maintenance.
Keep gardens and surrounding areas in a clean, tidy and well maintained.
Safely operate plant and equipment, including conducting pre-inspection and plant checks.
Ensure that all machinery and plant, tools and equipment are kept in well maintained and working order.
Supervision and training of greens keeper assistant.
