2024 Junior Tri Series Results
The NSW Junior Blues emerged victorious at the 2024 Junior Tri Series winning both the Overall series and the Girls series, held at Club Tweed. Competing against strong teams from Queensland and Victoria, our Boys side finished a close second on the ladder, just six points shy of Victoria.
Sponsored proudly by Cabramatta Bowls Club, the NSW Junior Blues showcased their talent with eight boys and eight girls competing in six rounds of fours, pairs, triples & singles. The competition kicked off with a strong start for the Blues in the opening round of fours, where our sides won three out of four matches. In the second round, our girls’ pairs won two out of four matches, while the boys secured one win.
Round 3 featured two rinks of triples and two singles for both boys and girls. The girls excelled in the triples, winning both matches, though they faced tough competition in the singles. Notably, Travis Moran, fresh off his victory at the Junior Nugget, secured a strong win in his singles match for the boys.
The Blues bounced back in round 4 with a return to the fours format, winning three out of four matches. In round 5, our teams continued to dominate, winning six out of eight pairs matches. This strong performance pushed our girls to the top of the ladder with just one round to play, while our boys sat in second place, just three points behind Victoria.
The overall series was still all to play for going into the final round. The Blues came out fighting with the girls winning both their triples and singles matches. The boys gave it their all winning one of their triples and singles matches, ultimately finishing in second place on their ladder. Combined, the girls’ and boys’ performances saw them top the overall table and claim the shield.
Congratulations to the entire team for their outstanding effort throughout the series managed by Junior Committee members Michael Wilks and Gavin Holburn. It was a fantastic showing by all players, and they can take great pride in their performance.
Thank you to Queensland and Club Tweed for hosting a fantastic series. To Victoria and Queensland, thank you for the great competition!
