Inter-Zone Sides Championship – Semi-Finalists Decided After Rain Delays

The Inter-Zone Sides Championship continued today as sectional play concluded and the semi-finalists were decided.

The competition began on Saturday, June 1, with Round One played across two host venues: NBC Sports and Dundas Sports.

Unfortunately, heavy rain caused play to be suspended after lunch, forcing Round 2 to be postponed to Sunday morning and Round 3 to Sunday afternoon. Due to this postponement, the decision was made to abandon the Quarter Finals and have the Sectional Play winners progress directly to the Semi-finals on Monday Morning.

Round 2 got underway on Sunday, June 2 with all teams playing across the two host venues, completing the postponed Round 2 in the morning and Round 3 after lunch.

At the end of Sectional Play, the winning teams were Zone 2, who won Section 1 against Zones 14, 11, and 3. Zone 12 were the winners of Section 2 against Zones 15, 5, and 4. Zone 16 won Section 3 against Zones 13, 6, and 7; and Zone 10, who won Section 4 against Zones 14, 11, and 3.

These teams will face off in the Semi-Finals tomorrow, starting at 8:30 AM at NBC Sports which will be live-streamed on the Bowls NSW YouTube channel.

The final will follow at 1:00 PM and will also be available for viewing on the Bowls NSW YouTube channel.
