Women’s CoC Singles Down to Round of 16

by Billy Johnson

The 2021 Women’s Champion of Champion Singles has reached the Round of 16 and includes a star-studded list of players. Sectional play came to an end this morning with Round 3 matches completed at Lake Cathie and Port City Bowling Club. Players contended with a howling wind and lightning fast greens, producing amazing bowls in the conditions.

Cheryl Douglas (Belmont) was in fine touch, winning her match against Theresa Murphy (St Marys RSL) 25-4. She now plays Amy Macauley (North Haven) in what will be a cracking clash.

Joining them in the Round of 16 are an incredible list of names, including Sarah Boddington (Tuncurry Beach), five-time CoC Singles champion Karen Murphy (Cabramatta) and two-time defending champion Dawn Hayman (St Johns Park).
