About Bowls New South Wales Limited:
Bowls New South Wales Limited is a recently established company following the amalgamation of RNSWBA and WBNSW in 2021. It is the governing state body for the sport of (lawn) bowls in New South Wales with a primary purpose to administer and promote the sport of bowls through strong leadership and innovation.
Bowls New South Wales Ltd is a not for profit company responsible for the governance, communication and management of events, player involvement and player development. Currently Bowls New South Wales Ltd has a registered participant base of over 45,000 bowlers and over 480 clubs. We value our large volunteer base, are financially strong and are proud that our sport is a core sport in the Commonwealth Games held every four years.
About the Role:
Reporting to the Chair, the role of the appointed CEO is to oversee the operation of Bowls New South Wales Ltd, guiding the strategic operation of the organisation. As this is a new organisation we need an exceptional and experienced leader who will drive the organisation forward and promote a strong, positive and unified culture.
The key areas of responsibility for the role are (but not limited to):
Leading and managing change.
Driving a positive and unified culture.
Delivering strategic plans to ensure the sustainability and growth of the sport.
Managing the day to day operations, ensuring compliance is met with delivery of best practice administration for the organisation by all staff, committees and volunteers.
Management of the Bowls New South Wales Limited team, ensuring staff are managed and developed to industry leading standards.
Reporting to the Bowls New South Wales Limited Board and Committees on governance, financial and administration matters.
Growing participation and membership while managing the commercial success of the organisation by maximising sponsorship and commercial opportunities.
Development and implementation of long-term growth and sustainability programs that deliver new income streams and facilities to the sport.
Liaising with key stakeholders, sponsors, government agencies, sporting organisations and service providers to promote and benefit Bowls New South Wales Ltd.
To be successful in this role you need to meet the following criteria:
Degree or diploma qualified in Business, Commerce or a related discipline.
Experience in a CEO role, preferably within the sporting, not for profit sectors or a membership-based organisation.
Experience working with and reporting directly to a Board.
Excellent people leadership skills.
Demonstrated project management and delivery skills.
Strong communication skills, preferably with public and media experience.
Strong stakeholder management skills.
Working financial knowledge and capable of working with financial statements.
Knowledge of systems and technology.
Experience working with volunteer based organisations desirable.
Prepared to immerse yourself in the sport and culture of Lawn Bowls.
The nature of the role will require travel to events and meetings, as well as working outside office hours on occasions.
The role will be full time, based in the Bowls New South Wales Limited office located in Pitt Street, Sydney.

The candidate selection process:
All Applications will be reviewed by Samantha Trimble, People and Culture Manager, Bowls Australia, the Board of Bowls NSW and an independent panelist.
A short list of candidates will be requested to attend interviews on Wednesday, 10th August.
Second interviews (if required) are scheduled for Monday, 15th August.
Further interviews may be advised if required.
The successful candidate will be selected by the Board of Bowls New South Wales Limited.
