It’s Semi-Finals time
Warilla Bowls & Recreation Club has witnessed a great day’s action in the Finals Series of the NSW State Junior Singles Championship.
The Competition is down to the Semi-Finals stage after an enthralling day’s play.
Tim Thorning (Gunnedah Services &BC) will take on Lachlan Thompson (Gulgong) in one Sem-Final clash while Bailey Meti (Ettalong) will take on Jack McShane (Merrylands) in the other.
Thorning claimed his place in the knockout phase with 3 tight wins in his section while Thompson won both of his sectional matches to proceed.
McShane also won both of his sectional matches, scoring 13 unanswered shots in his final sectional match to storm to the section win.
Bailey Meti, fresh from his win in the State Junior Pairs Championship, had a solid game over Joe Clarke (Park Beach) in his opening match, reversing the result from the Australian Open Under 18 Boys Singles. Clarke overcame Ryan Hansen (Taren Point) in the second match. Hansen recorded a 21-18 win over Meti in the final sectional match, but the close result coupled with the solid opening match win was enough to secure the section for Meti on a score difference.
Play in the State Junior Singles Semi-Finals gets under way tomorrow (Thursday) at 9.30AM.
