State Carnivals Head South for 2022

The biggest events on the Bowls NSW calendar will have a new home in 2022, with the Women’s and Men’s State Carnivals heading south to the Wollongong and Shoalhaven regions.

From 2 – 6 May, bowlers from across New South Wales will come together to enjoy the competition, the camaraderie and everything that the Wollongong and Shoalhaven regions have to offer. It will also mark the first time that a Women’s and Men’s State Carnival are run over the same week, maximising the opportunity for bowlers to take part in one of the best events of the year!

The ever-popular Women’s State Carnival will take place in the Shoalhaven region in 2022 with Shoalhaven City Council set to host the event. Located on the beautiful NSW south coast and bordered by mountains, coastal plains and magnificent beaches, Shoalhaven has a range of activities available to visitors and will be a fantastic host region for the Women’s State Carnival.

In its inaugural year, the Men’s State Carnival will be run across the Wollongong region. With a plethora of clubs in the area, Destination Wollongong emerged as an ideal choice to host the newest event on the Bowls NSW calendar.

Lord Mayor of Wollongong, Gordon Bradbery AM is delighted to have the Men’s State Carnival take place within the region. “We look forward to welcoming the bowling community to Wollongong in 2022, where many of our bowling clubs are in stunning seaside locations that make up the social fabric of our coastal villages. We hope they get to enjoy the great outdoors, amazing eateries, and relaxed culture of the Wollongong region.”

Bowls NSW Ltd is thrilled to be working with Shoalhaven City Council and Destination Wollongong as hosts for the 2022 State Carnivals. Simultaneously running a Women’s and Men’s Carnival will be an historic first for our sport, and it is fantastic to have both entities on board for this momentous occasion.

Further event details, including entry forms and host clubs, will be announced in due course.
