Inter-Zone Sides Championship has reached the Semi-Final stage
The Inter-Zone Sides Championship has reached the Semi-Final stage at Tamworth, with Illawarra Zone 16, Newcastle Zone 2, Sydney Central and Southern Zone 13 and South east NSW Zone 7 vying for the Championship.
Defending Champions Illawarra finished top of their section then kept their chances of defending their title alive with a solid 57-48 victory over powerhouse Sydney South West Zone 12.
Illawarra will face off with Sydney Central and Southern who survived a late fightback from Hunter Zone 6 to win their Quarter-Final 56-54.
Newcastle has been bolstered by the addition of Lee Schraner who recently moved to Raymond Terrace from Victoria. The Novocastians were strong to finish top of their section and then held off a spirited fight from North Coast Zone 14 for a 62-51 victory.
Newcastle will take on South Eastern NSW who, after a poor 3rd round result, bounced back to outclass Sydney Northern Zone 9 62-40.
The Semi-Finals and Final of the Inter-Zone Sides Championships will be played at South Tamworth Bowling Club, action to get under way at 9AM.
