2020 NSW Champion of Club Champions Pairs final
The 2020 NSW Champion of Club Champions Pairs final will feature teams from Forster and Engadine when it is played at Ettalong (Friday 12 March).
Brian Wilson and Martin Gosper (Forster) reserved their place in the Championship decider with a great win over Corey Wedlock and Aaaron Teys (Warilla). The Forster pairing got the better of the tricky conditions and were consistently able to get results to give them the advantage.
Craig Donaldson and Callum Murray (Engadine) got the better of a great contest against Matty Miles and Carl Healey (Cabramatta). The Bullants duo threatened to storm home in the closing stages before the Cougars won the last end to seal their passage to the final.
Warilla looked to be in dire trouble in their final pool match, trailing Narrabri 0-17 after 9 ends. The Gorillas then went on a remarkable scoring rampage as Narrabri imploded scoring 24 shots to 1 to book their place in the semi-finals
Forster entered Round 3 in a commanding position having recorded 2 very strong wins. Grenfell’s Steve Glavin and gerard Beath entered the final round knowing that a 17 shot win over Forster would see the Goldminers pair leapfrog Forster. Going into the last end Grenfell lead by 16 shots, however Forster scored a single to squeak into the knockout stage.
Engadine and Cabramatta had no such dramas, both proceeding to the Semi-Finals with unbeaten sectional records.
The final is scheduled to commence at 9.00AM at Ettalong Bowling Club and will be lived streamed on our Facebook page.
